Makaron Farm

Makaron Farm

Makaron farm was established by the Aegean Sea in 1864. The Pasta (macaroni) made of the durum wheat grown on Makaron Farms fertile lands, was exported to Greek, Italian and European nobles. The ancient buildings of the Macaroni factory are still standing there.
Farm Center

Our settlement area near the sea at the center of Makaron Farm is strategically located for carrying out agricultural activities during the whole year.
Taking Care Of Olive Trees

Our experienced staff is taking care of our 10.000 mono-variety (Edremit Yağlık)olive trees in approximately 500 acres of land during the whole year without avoiding any efforts and expenses. This meticulous care and attention is the main reason behind the unique taste and color of Makaron Olive Oil.
Makaron Olive Orchard

In our 500 acres mono-variety olive grove, the many ancient trees and the 20 years old younger ones provide us the best mix of olives for producing the best olive oils.
Harvest only by hand

Healthy fruits of our trees are only picked by hand which is the most expensive but the most ideal method. Even the oldest and biggest trees were pruned down so that the hand pick up could be possible for all trees with the least damage not to cause oxidation of the olives to be pressed.
Selecting only the best olives

Our aim is to obtain an early harvest extra virgin olive oil with the lowest acidity and the highest polyphenolic contents that are responsible for the aromatic taste and anti-oxidation features. So, we only select the best olives.
Early Harvest

We prefer the earliest possible time for the harvest although we know that we can get only l (one) litre of olive oil from 7-8 kg. of olives in this period.
Milling immediately

The olives obtained after such a grueling harvest, now deserve to be milled with the utmost care. We generally start milling within 1-2 hours after harvesting with our special neo-classic milling machine.
Neo-classic milling system

We know that we have to keep aromatic contents and polyphenols in the oil during the milling process, so that we only cold press and add only a minimal amount of cold water to the paste and we do not use centrifugal washing during the process. We believe that, centrifugal washing also wash out the polyphenols in the oil. To reach these goals we use MOT Milling Systems from Toscana, Italy, being the very best system known for this purpose.
Makaron Extra Virgin Olive Oil

By performing the above-mentioned techniques we get MAKARON Olive Oil which has unique aromatic and antioxidant characteristics because of the maximum level of polyphenols and other organic ingredients. These precious production techniques leaded us to get several International Awards in the world.
